Ioana studied at Indiana University Bloomington in the U.S. (PhD, 2006; MA, 2001) and at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania (BSc, 1999).
Ioana joined the Department of Economics at the University of Glasgow in September 2006.
Ioana’s research is in the area of Macroeconomics and currently focuses on issues related to the role of fiscal policies in stabilizing business cycle fluctuations. She also looks at how different fiscal policies interact and the consequences of these interactions for the economy. Her work also addresses the importance of a careful treatment of government indebtedness and of the intertemporal government budget constraint.
Personal Interests
Whenever time permits, Ioana likes to travel, to go hiking, and skiing. She also enjoys reading, dancing, and playing with her two orange cats. She has an interest in foreign languages. |
