Kohei Kawamura obtained his DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford, where he was a student at Nuffield College and lecturer at St Hugh's College. He did his BA and MA in commerce at Waseda University, Tokyo.
His research interests are in game theoretic analysis of communication, and the theory of the firm. He has been studying how communication environments affect people's incentive to tell the truth (or a lie). He is currently interested in why and how non-binding verbal promises influence people's subsequent behaviour. He has also worked on corporate governance, especially the relationship between employees and managerial decision making.
Personal Interests
Kohei loves listening to classical music and watching Marx Brothers films. While at Oxford he travelled frequently to London for concerts by the London Symphony Orchestra and operas at Covent Garden. Now he is a subscriber to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. |
