Luis obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland).
Research interests: economic development, income inequality, economic history and economic growth in a long-run perspective, colonialism and its economic consequences, macroeconomics and finance.
Luis Angeles works in the area of economic development, in particular the effects of foreign aid on developing countries, the determinants of income inequality, intellectual property rights in developing countries. He has further interests in economic history in relation to the consequences of colonialism and the evolution of pre-industrial economies.
Luis joined the Department of Economics at Glasgow in September 2006. Following his PhD studies in Economics at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and at the Study Centre Gerzensee, he held a teaching position at the University of Manchester. He has taught courses in macroeconomics, economic growth, banking and finance, and other areas of economics. |
