Tao has held the position of Assistant Professor of Economics, Cornell University since 2002. In September 2007 he also joined the Department of Economics at the University of Glasgow as a Part-Time Chair in September 2007.
His research interests include macroeconomics and monetary economics, with his current research interest focussing on matching models of money.
