TRAVEL BY RAIL

All trains arrive at Waverley Station in the centre of the city, although some trains also stop at Haymarket, which is a smaller station in the west end. Walking from Waverley to the conference venue in George Square takes approximately 15 minutes. Walking from the staion to the accommodation complex will take 30 minutes. Taxis are available outside both train stations

TRAVEL FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT

Edinburgh International Airport is 12km (8 miles) west of the city centre and is easy to reach thanks to reliable bus & taxi services.

Taxi

You will find official airport taxis at the taxi rank outside the terminal building (follow the signs within the airport). It costs about £20-£25 to get a taxi from the airport to the city centre, and the journey takes around 30-45 minutes (during the rush hour, the journey may take longer).

Shuttle bus

There is also a frequent, on-demand mini-coach service between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre. Check out the shuttle bus website.

The fares for this service is advertised as £10.00 for a single journey and can be booked online or phone 0845 500 5000 (International Dialling 00 44 845 500 5000). The journey to the city centre may take up to 30 minutes. Online bookings can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Bookings can be paid for via credit card. You will be allocated a pick up time and reservation number. Please be ready to board at agreed collection point 5 minutes prior to your pick up time. The service accepts a walk up or hail and ride subject to seat availability.

Edinburgh Airport Bus Link

The Airlink 100 operates a frequent bus service (every 10 minutes at peak times) between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre, with designated stops en route. Journey time is about 25 minutes and tickets cost £3.50 single and an open return is £6.00 return. Check out the Edinburgh Airport Bus website

By train

If you are travelling by train, time tables, tickets,maps and routes are available from Scotrail Rail website, including trains from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley. There is a Shuttle train between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is the nearest to the airport. Just one mile from the terminal, it can be reached by taxi or by regular bus services from bus stop bay 1 – located just outside the terminal building. There are direct rail services from Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central, Ayr and Clyde Coast destinations.

Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central operates eight trains per hour (Monday-Saturday) and five per hour (Sunday). Rail tickets from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow Central station, via Paisley Gilmour Street station, can be purchased from the SPT Travel Centre on the ground floor of the terminal building, adjacent to domestic arrivals. When travelling to the airport from any station in Scotland, you simply ask for a rail ticket to Glasgow Airport and this is then valid on the train to Paisley Gilmour Street and the Arriva bus service from Paisley to the airport.
